Origin/Backstory: This incredible cross is from two of my favorite parents of all time, the 707 Headband cut and Greedo's Stash, a Bodhi Seeds strain. The 707 Headband hails from the 707 area code in northern California, and is rumored to be an OG Kush x Sour Diesel. This is believable considering the extreme skunky, fuel tones of this variety. I personally selected the Greedo's Stash male from a full pack for his vigor and intensely spicey aroma.
Appearance: This herb is some of the prettiest flower around. It is extremely resinous, and has perfectly-shaped/structured pine cone buds. The dense buds are a lime-green covered by a near golden layer of resin. Red and orange pistils or "hairs" are abundant, showing maturity of the flower sample. It also makes for a striking bag appeal, alluring any and all cannabis enthusiasts.
Aroma: The scent profile of this variety is certainly interesting. Incredibly diverse and uniquely tantalizing, it is a complete combination of both parents. Very strong and noticeable are lemon, Lipton iced tea, rye bread, and skunk. Gasoline and diesel are present along with gin and juniper notes, heavy hash spice, and other exotic spices which defy description. It is diverse and deep, but the lemon, iced tea, rye, and skunk bouquet is very dominating. The other scents can be detected only after breaking open flowers, releasing the volatile terpenes into the air.
Flavor: The flavor is possibly the highest point of this variety. It is an incredible representation of the aroma, carrying through each and every flavor described above. However, the background spices, juniper, and elderberry flavors become more noticeable when smoked. Lemon, skunk, and fuel flavors come in equally alongside the heavy and exotic tones of spice and alien baked goods. No flavor dominates, and each note can be sensed and articulated without straining. It is really quite something, extremely potent and strong in flavor alone. Long after smoking, a skunky-fuel flavor coats the mouth and palate. A joy to taste and smoke on flavor alone.
Effects: It can be uncomfortable to have ganja that is as potent as it is delicious, because overindulgence becomes so easy. This is one of those varieties. Incredibly strong, this flower is a head-nodding powerhouse of the highest order. It will have one dozing off into a very pleasant and comfortable opium-like dream of euphoria and fascination of thought. I would say that this is philosopher's smoke if it did not guarantee sleep! This strain also seemed to make me very forgetful. I would assure myself that I would remember certain details and appointments only to forget minutes later. This is definitely a body-calming mind-warping strain that is extremely satisfying as a nightcap. It is a problem to smoke this during the day, as it will lead to a nap, or at the least will probably kill motivation. This is definitely not "go out and do things" weed.
Overall Experience: I am incredibly impressed with this variety. The original 707 Headband clone has serious potential as a clone-only and as a breeder. The overwhelmingly, rye bread, skunk-fuel aroma and flavor is a timeless favorite of so many cannabis veterans, and expresses itself well in this cross. The effect of the 707 cut is strong, but the Greedo's Stash male adds a level of potency that is unprecedented, even in the infamous Headband genetic lines. This variety is a superbly-flavorful indica-dominant option for Headband lovers. While Diesel purists may shrug off any dilutions of the original strains, this F1 hybrid actually improves on the original. While retaining meracious diesel flavors, it adds complexity and depth to the flavor, and a dreamy indica effect that has yet to disappoint. I will be searching this cross further for more potential.
